We would love to get more quality content from you! By writing for us, you will increase your visibility online, get new traffic and build your name.

Before we tell you how you can become a contributor, let us discuss a few important points.

Quality and consistency comes first. We do not publish posts that are of doubtful quality or that do not match the style of our blog.

What we will do for you: Now, like we said, you writing for us will get you publicity. So, to achieve this, we ask that you do the following:

  • add a link to your blog/website on top of the article (be tasteful about this)
  • add a byline, including a small bio of yourself at the bottom of the article
  • add a picture of yourself (not in the article but get a Gravatar icon and our system will automatically add it to your post - see the Help page for details)

We all also:

  • create a special page where all the guest bloggers are featured
  • create a section on your sidebar where guest bloggers are featured
  • write a monthly “Thank You” post thanking previous guest bloggers

Here are some content guidelines to follow:

  • First, your content MUST be in line with the kind of topics our viewers are interested in. Go through our blog thoroughly and familiarize yourself with the kind of topics we cover.
  • We only take complete articles. You cannot just post an article saying, “I have written an article on XYZ, click here to read it”. You can however reference sites in your post as long as you link to them as their sources.
  • We do NOT take articles that are blatant advertising for a product or service. You can write a review of a product or service, as long as it is a review and not a sales letter.
  • Posts with images are better, but not compulsory. However, only use an image that is relevant to the content, and resize it so it looks good and fits well with the rest of the site.
  • Our template does a brilliant job of formatting the content so do not specify your own fonts, or color various sections in a dozen different colors. Just write plainly and cleanly, using bold or italics, etc, as is necessary, and the rest will be handled by our template.
  • Please do not use any affiliate links, attempt to trick our readers, or refer to any spam sites. If you are referring to a site, we reserve the right to edit the hyperlink so that it contains our affiliate link.
  • We reserve the right to edit your writing for grammar and punctuation or even sentence structure. We will not change the meaning of your article or your point of view.
  • Your bio at the end of the article should contain no more than 2 outgoing links. Here is what is should look similar to (Written by Alice Hong, owner of XYZ site).
  • The article you submit cannot be duplicated on any other sites, including your own.
  • If we pay you for the article (not usually), we become the owner of the content. However, we will credit you for it.
  • If we don’t pay you for the article, you are granting us the right to keep it on our blog and you are agreeing not to submit the article to anyone else’s site.
  • If we do not or cannot publish a particular article, we will let you know and you can then go ahead and publish it elsewhere on your own.

So how do you become a contributor?

Easy! Follow these steps:

  1. Register yourself on our blog.
  2. Inform us that you have registered, letting us know that you wish to be a contributor for this blog (tell us the blog name because we have several blogs) and what your registered username and email address is. We will then assign you Contributor status, which will allow you to post articles. (However, your posts will be held until we review them, at which point we will schedule a publishing date for them.)
  3. Post one article (or two at the most) for us to see the kind of articles you write. If they are acceptable, we will publish them and you can go ahead and become a regular contributor after that.

Enjoy!
